**The Opportunity**
We are looking for a **Technical Writer**.
You will take an innovative and proactive approach to produce efficient and targeted written communications as part of team objectives, with the overarching goal of achieving optimal usability for the client. This role involves a great deal of input from you to create technical documents using quality visual imagery, and also to guide your team in their own writing. You will be relied upon for your excellent communication skills; in particular your ability to provide meaningful information in a clear and concise layout, interpreting the work of the technical team and translating it for the client.
This role can be based either in Auckland or Melbourne.
**The Role**:
- Produce clear written communications with quality visual images, displaying excellence in these and in your communications with immediate and wider Gentrack teams, and management.
- Proactively share your knowledge and expertise with immediate team members and the wider teams. Acting as an intermediary between the technical teams and the user to ensure that effective communications result.
- Display innovation and proactivity, desiring continuous improvement in all respects including
- personal development and product material development, with a particular emphasis on new products and improved methodology.
- Seek excellence in document design with a client view in mind, resulting in a clear layout and consistent interface and ensuring conceptual correctness, with a strong emphasis on ensuring that the user experience is intuitive, and documentation is kept as simple as possible.
- Build a high level of product material knowledge and share this with your team and teams across Gentrack, with a view to achieving excellence in development of materials.
**Your success will be reflected by**:
- Clear guidance for written communication is given resulting in targeted and efficient production of materials from and for the team.
- Demonstrable technical proficiency resulting in team objectives being met, with clear and targeted documentation as a result.
- Forward thinking is evident, with an ongoing and big picture view of personal and product material development.
- Product documentation standards continually improve, and client need is met through well-targeted material.
- Ability to see the client view is evident in the clarity and consistency of documents produced.
- Demonstrable drive to increase product material knowledge and expertise, with advances in this regularly communicated and shared with the team.
**As a Technical Writer you will have experience with at least two of the below skillset**:
- 3+ Years of experience as a Technical Writer or related role
- Experience with the documentation needs of a Product Development orientated organisation.
- Experience in working in an Agile Software Development environment (preferably Scrum)
- Experience in a commerc
