**Your new role**
A new opportunity has become available to join our team in Milperra. This key role acts as a support to the Yard Manager and will enable you to further develop invaluable skills in the day to day running and improvement of operations.
You will be rewarded with working for a sustainable growing business with class-leading technology.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Assisting the Manager to implement ideas and improvements to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce business costs
- Assist in analysing key data relating to machine utilisation and run times and make recommendations to help the business make informed decisions with respect to cost management.
- Providing support with month end duties including but not limited to verifying and providing information in relation to operational cost.
- Actively support the manager to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are developed and objectives are delivered.
- Raise any significant non-conformances to internal Quality system and actively implement corrective actions that resolve quality issues.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of processes so that all procurement is consistent with the needs of the organization

**Essential Criteria**:

- Numerical skills including the ability to work to budget within required deadlines and report on outcomes
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously with limited direction
- Basic knowledge of operations principles and mechanical aptitude and awareness

**Desirable criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in the Mechanical Engineering trade, Operations, or Business
- Knowledge and/or understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal and/or processing techniques
- Experience in continuous improvement
- Awareness of applicable legislation
