**Building & Facilities Officer**
Are you committed to upholding standards of maintenance and repairs with an interest in how this is applicable to historic buildings? We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative Building & Facilities Officer who can contribute to site safety and the protection of our heritage values. You will be joining a specialised, professional and dynamic team that supports MHNSW to achieve its goals.
**What the opportunity is**:
- Employment with Museums of History NSW, NSW Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade.
- Clerk Grade 5/6 - $110,711. Package includes salary ($89,707 - $98,982), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Full-time ongoing employment
- The role will work across the Sydney area.
**What we do**
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

**What you’ll do with us**
This role will contribute to the planning and implementation of the maintenance and upkeep of City Museums Portfolio sites by maintaining the building assets and supporting operations to ensure Portfolio sites meet appropriate standards in the care, conservation and management of historic sites.

**What the essential requirements of the role are**
- Tertiary qualifications in building trades/building maintenance or relevant experience.
- Current NSW driver’s licence.
- Current first aid certificate.
- Ability to act as security contact out of hours.
**What you need to tell us - Targeted questions**:
- Give an example of a HVAC maintenance issue you were involved to resolve. In where the client, consultant and various contractors all had to be negotiated with to develop the required solution. To achieve the best outcome within both budget and time constraints. What was your role? What steps/actions did you take to bring all parties to an agreement for the best way forward?
- Please provide details of your experience working in heritage or museum organisations, detailing some of the considerations required for working in this sector and show how you have demonstrated a high level of personal motivation and interpersonal skills in these organisations?
