1. Demonstrated high level coaching and/or playing experience. For coaching this means coaching appointments as a minimum at junior or senior club level in the highest level competition for your sport in either a development and/or competition role or registration as an accredited coach in your sport. For_ _playing this refers to participation in at least a peak competition within your state.

2. Capacity to work with other Assistant Coaches and the Director of Coaching to develop and document an elite level school sporting program consistent with those described in the typical duties for the position below.

3. Demonstrated capacity to assist in the delivery of a benchmark school sports program in Australian schools.

4. Commitment to continued professional growth so as to consistently understand and champion the philosophy of RSA and to help create demand from families for the program

5. Capacity to work co-operatively and supportively with the Director of Coaching, other Assistant Coaches within your sport and the coaching team across RSA to build a culture of respect and endeavour within the RSA program

6. Demonstrated capacity to build relationships with the student cohort that enable you to build on their talents, deliver effective feedback and identify when they need support and assistance and direct them through the Director of Coaching to those who can provide support.

7. Demonstrated commitment to supporting and encouraging success of your students in their academic pathways at Rowville Secondary College

**Role**:
Attendance requirement for this position require attendance at school for all designated hours of coaching.

Assistant Coaches of RSA Sports report to the Director of Coaching to assist in development and to implement a specialist sporting program. Their high level sports coaching and/or playing background provides motivation to the students within the program and their knowledge gains them respect and the capacity to make a significant difference to the talents of the students in the program. Their influence will also impact positively on students’ approach to their academic pathways.

**Responsibilities**:
**Typical Duties**
- Work under the leadership of the Director of Coaching and as part of a team to develop and deliver a sporting program that is reflective of the status of Rowville Sports Academy as an elite provider of school-based sporting programs to their students
- Model exemplary program delivery during sports coaching and all program activities e.g. competitions, additional elite sessions, athletic development, recovery, exposing students to the highest of standards
- Proactively bring their strengths to the development and delivery of our elite program
- Communicate regularly with students and give feedback to them on the tasks that they are expected to complete
- Support the Director of Coaching to monitor student engagement and wellbeing and help to draw up a schedule within the team to share responsibility for all students in the program
- Collaborate proactively with other coaches across all sports in RSA to share ideas that maximise the sporting and learning culture of Rowville Sports Academy
- Assist students to maintain the appropriate balance in their sporting and academic commitments.
- Continue to grow the reputation of Rowville Sports Academy within the community by promoting the program at various forums and by providing ideas for program improvement to the Director of Coaching
- Support the program budget by participating in revenue raising events such as RSA Elite Sports Camps and other fundraising ventures
