VARTA is a statutory authority guided by the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008 and the Minister for Health’s Statement of Expectations. VARTA helps people understand what they can do to improve their chance of having a baby. We regulate assisted reproductive treatment (ART) providers and prioritise the best interests of people having ART, and their future children. We support people involved in donor conception to get the information they need and to achieve their connection preferences..

The Manager co-leads the planning and organising of educational events for DCRS stakeholders, the public and health professionals e.g., the Time to Tell seminar and Family Storybook workshops.

**Accountabilities**:
As the Manager, your responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Provide oversight and guidance on the counselling services for donor-conceived people, parents of donor-conceived people, and donors on the Central and Voluntary Registers.
- Ensure compliance with the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Act 2008 and the Assisted Reproductive Treatment Regulations 2019.
- Manage the processing, recording and communication of Contact Preference renewal for donor-conceived people and pre-1998 donors.
- Manage the receipt of pregnancy and birth notifications form ART clinics.
- Monitor compliance of information and record management activities including:

- Performing routine audits of information on Voluntary and Central Registers to ensure all information and relationship connections are recorded accurately.
- Ensuring classifying and archiving of documents and records, including the digitisation of files to VARTA systems.
- Coordinate, update and develop written material for both internal and external stakeholders including facts sheets, forms, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of the stakeholder experience of donor conception register services.
- Ensure effective and efficient operations and continually improve processes and systems including updating process maps and case management documentation.
- Proactively participate, contribute, and collaborate as a member of the VARTA leadership team, including contributing to building a positive and supportive team culture.

You will also be responsible for public education, which includes:

- In collaboration with the Education Manager, coordinate the organization of education events such as: Time to Tell seminars, Family Storybook workshops for parents and health professionals and Donor-linking seminars for donor-conceived adults, recipient parents and donors.
- Oversee and manage the update and development of education resources pertaining to assisted reproductive treatment (ART) and donor conception.
- Attend relevant meetings to represent VARTA and the donor registers services.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Proven analytical, strategic thinking and project management skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience and achievement in a regulatory or statutory environment
- Empathetic and excellent communicator with relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilty
- Advanced influencing and negotiation skills

Whilst not essential, a relevant tertiary qualification in the fields of Public Health, Business Managemetn or other discipline are highly regarded.
