**Division Responsibilities**
The Market and Workforce Division within the Ageing and Aged Care Group aims to enable
a sustainable aged care system that delivers high quality services that are responsive to the
needs and preferences of all consumers, including those with diverse characteristics and life
experiences. The Division operates with respect and works across boundaries. Our team is
appropriately skilled, inclusive and engages with risk, and works collaboratively with
stakeholders. The Division undertakes research and analysis to deliver policy and programs
that will achieve a high quality and sustainable aged care sector.

**Branch Responsibilities**
The First Nations Aged Care Branch is responsible for the partnerships, policies and
programs to improve the ageing and aged care experience for First Nations elders. The key
priorities of the First Nations Aged Care Branch include several reform initiatives, response
to the Royal Commission recommendations and embedding the Closing the Gap priorities
into our work.

**Section Responsibilities**
The First Nations Aged Care Programs section ensures the ongoing contribution to
outcomes for First Nations elders through key targeted programs. It leads the delivery of the
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) Program, the
Indigenous Employment Initiative (IEI) Program, emergency assistance for Indigenous aged
care services, minor works and equipment grants for NATSIFAC Program services, major

Infrastructure grants for service rebuilds and staff accommodation, Trusted Indigenous
Facilitators (TIF) Program and building the capacity of Aboriginal Community Controlled
Organisations (ACCOs) to deliver aged care.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- You will establish and manage relationships to collect, collate, and contribute to

outcomes for First Nations people. You will promote information sharing, partnership
and common understanding across the organisation and with external partners.
- You will support the section in the delivery of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait

Islander Flexible Aged Care (NATSIFAC) Program and the Trusted Indigenous Facilitators
Programs and contribute to other section responsibilities when necessary. These
programs are high profile but importantly are essential to delivering on the aged care
reform agenda. You will assist in managing the relationships between the central
NATSIFAC Program staff and the state and territory offices who at the working level are
the drivers of the program delivery.
- You will assist in increasing our commitment to embed Indigenous perspectives in our

key programs.

**Key Capabilities**:

- High level positive communication skills with an ability to build productive relationships

with a diverse range of existing stakeholders (particularly First Nations peoples), and
actively seek to maintain positive workplace relationships.
- Policy and program management experience across key stages of project delivery,

including demonstratable experience of grant and procurement processes.
- Demonstrable capability of achieving required outcomes within tight delivery timelines,

working well under pressure.
