**About the role**

We are excited to announce a permanent opportunity for an Environmental Specialist. This role is designed to drive the Corporation’s environmental sustainability efforts by leading Environmental Regulatory Compliance and Assurance Programs. Additionally, you will support the development and implementation of corporate environmental performance metrics.

Provide advice on implementation of environmental approvals in accordance with environmental legislation to support the design, construction, and operation of Water Corporation assets in alignment to Thrive 2035.

This role will be based in our Leederville office and will be initially reporting to the Team Leader - Governance, Assurance and Performance. This role involves both office and regular state-wide field-based work so flexibility is required to meet the project needs.

**What the role will involve**
- Develop and deliver environmental assurance programs and activities (including supporting audits under ISO Standards).
- Plan and coordinate logistics for audit/assurance activities in line with the environmental assurance schedule.
- Provide advice on environmental agency expectation to implement approved proposals under environmental legislation.
- Support the delivery of a framework and processes to ensure objectives, management and governance of the Corporation’s environmental sustainability requirements are measured and understood, including and not limited to risk management, performance and reporting, audit and assurance, legal and other requirements (compliance and obligations).
- Build and maintain relationship with key external stakeholders inclusive of regulators, key customers and industry bodies (DWER, Cth DCCEEW, EPA, DBCA, Advocacy groups, Environmental Interest Groups).
- Provide leadership, expert technical advice and review policy and position statements including writing, reviewing and updating protocols and support the development and provision of strategic advice on environmental issues and compliance.
- Support the establishment and implementation of credible scientific data-based metrics to demonstrate Corporate environmental performance.
