**About the Role**
Working as part of the Climate Emergency and Environment Programs team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering Council’s community facing environmental sustainability education programs.

You will have the chance to make a direct impact by implementing projects and initiatives within Council’s sustainability strategies, along with other initiatives in line with Council’s goals.

You will also have the opportunity to identify partnership opportunities for innovative projects, support strategies, collaborate across Council, external organisations and groups, and develop and deliver engaging programs and education campaigns for and with the Darebin community.
- Manage circular economy and waste avoidance engagement programs for the community
- Create engaging campaigns to raise environmental awareness and action in the community
- Collaborate with community groups to support community-led initiatives
- Partner with external organisations to deliver shared outcomes for the environment
- Liaise with the public to help understand Darebin’s waste and new circular economy initiatives

**Skills & Experience**
- Understanding of circular economy and waste avoidance issues, and how they relate to Council and the community
- Experience in managing community facing programs and engagement campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of people of different backgrounds, experiences and knowledge
- A tertiary qualification in environmental management/science, sustainability, community engagement, waste management or related and/or equivalent experience in these or related fields
