The School of Allied Health has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious early-career researcher - postdoctoral research fellow to join our team and make a difference

As Research Fellow, you will contribute to the Kids Rehab research program conducted in collaboration between Curtin University, the Child and Adolescent Health Service (Department of Health) and Telethon Kids Institute in Perth, Australia. You will primarily contribute to research-based activities, conducting nationally competitive research as part of the research team.

You will be working on cutting-edge research as part of a strong, dynamic team including international leading experts, with the overarching aim to improve outcomes for children with acquired or congenital neurological impairments.

You will have a doctoral qualification in health informatics, health services or population health, computer science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related area.

**In this role you will**

Work as part of a large and multidisciplinary team to:

- Undertake project management activities, including:
a) Contribute to planning, design and implementation of a research project
b) Undertake and/or coordinate completion of research tasks
c) Collect and analyse data
d) Monitor and report on research progress
e) Facilitate the translation of research into practice
- Establish close working relationships with research partners around Australia to ensure the completion of the above two duties
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
- Opportunity to supervise and mentor staff and students (higher degree and honours)
- Contribute to a harmonious research team
- Build networks with community members, researchers, health care providers, peak bodies and policy makers working in related areas

You will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.

**Selection Criteria**:

- A doctoral qualification (or equivalent) in health informatics, health services or population health, computer science, software engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital health research and related methodologies
- A track record in scientific publications and presentations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain digital concepts to a non-technical audience
- Ability to develop partnerships with industry
- Strong organisational skills, including demonstrated ability manage research projects, set goals, develop priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and also effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team that spans several sites

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- Ambition to become an independent researcher in the health and / or digital health field
- Capacity to supervise higher research degree students
