The Commission is an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of Victorian children and young people. It has a particular focus on vulnerable children and young people. The Commission is also the regulator for the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. The Commission supports flexible and hybrid working models

The Policy and Projects Officer works within the Education and Capacity Building team. Drawing on their policy analysis skills to adapt complex legislation into a form suitable for its diverse intended audience, the Officer will participate in the development and delivery of guidance activities utilising multiple delivery methods. This includes face to face presentations, webinars, on-demand videos, written resources and web materials. Project management skills and data literacy are required to inform work and track progress, whilst maintaining effective stakeholder relationships internal and external to the Commission.

**In this role you will**:

- Interpret policy and legislation to enable stakeholders to understand their obligations under the Child Safe Standards (CSS) and the Reportable Conduct Scheme (RCS) through a range of delivery methods.
- Participate in and lead projects to deliver ongoing capacity building and awareness strategies for CSS and RCS.
- Contribute to the development of targeted resources and tools that will enable diverse industries, organisations, and sectors to comply with their obligations under CSS and RCS and keep children safe.
- Build and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake research, data gathering and analysis to support a range of activities.
