Due to how successful the business is performing, a new role as GM of Buying has been introduced to continue the ongoing growth of the business.

**About the role**:
The General Manager of Buying will report into the Merchandise Director and will join the SLT of this furniture retail powerhouse. The role is responsible for overseeing the entire buying process, from sourcing and selecting products to negotiating with suppliers and managing inventory.

Some of the key responsibilities of the GM of Buying include:

- Product Sourcing: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and products that align with the company's business objectives and target market.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Product Selection and Assortment Planning: Working closely with merchandising and sales teams to determine the product mix, assortment, and inventory levels based on customer demand, market trends, and sales performance analysis.
- Pricing and Negotiation: Collaborating with suppliers to negotiate pricing, discounts, and terms that maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels, forecasting demand, and implementing effective inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and prevent stock-outs.
- Market Analysis: Conducting market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences, and using this information to make informed buying decisions.
- Team Management: Leading and developing a team of buyers and procurement professionals, providing guidance, setting performance targets, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the buying department.

The GM of Buying plays a crucial role in the success of the company's operations by ensuring that the right products are sourced, priced appropriately, and available in the right quantities at the right time to meet customer demand and maximize profitability.
