**SC1**. Demonstrated capacity to provide tailored, individual support to instrumental music students in a school setting.

**SC2**. Demonstrated capacity to work as a member of the performing arts team.

**SC3**. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills and high-level interpersonal skills including the capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents, colleagues and members of the broader community.

**SC4**. Possess the technical knowledge and expertise as a drummer.

**SC5**. Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement ensemble programs for instrumental music students in a school setting to further students’ opportunities for performance.

**Role**:
This role directly supports the Instrumental Music and Performing Arts Program at the college.

The successful applicant would be required to manage drum sessions and provide general support to the band program. Student ability ranges from absolute beginners through to more accomplished performers.

The position reports to the Performing Arts Manager.

**Responsibilities**:
Carry out allocated activities and tasks determined by the college consistent with role description.

Participate in planning and preparation with teachers on a regular basis.

Participate in the ongoing evaluation of this initiative.

Provide strategic advice on specific support services and their impact on students, school curriculum and services.

Manage the use of and access to college resource and reference materials.

Willingness to participate in the greater performing arts programs at the college in future years.

Swinburne Senior Secondary College is a co-educational government secondary college which caters for Years 11 and 12 students. The College offers Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) in a setting that enables students to focus their learning around the values, attitudes and needs of young adults.

Students are attracted from all parts of Melbourne and beyond, and from all education sectors, to our strong Visual and Performing Arts, Design and Technology and Humanities programs, and wide curriculum offerings in Science, Mathematics and Commerce. Students may commence their enrolment at the College in Year 11 or Year 12. They have access to a broad range of some 38 VCE Studies, VCAL at Intermediate and Senior Levels and VET programs. The College hosts 17 VET programs on each evening throughout the week (excluding Friday) and all day on Wednesday. Students may also choose from 16 other programs through the Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC) and travel off site to study these.

Over the past ten years, the College enrolment has averaged 420 students. Currently, the College enrolment is 434 students comprising 301 females and 133 males. There is an expectation
