**About Wandarrah (Inala) Pre-School and Community Centre - 9 Azalea St Inala Qld 4077**

Wandarrah Preschool & Community Centre was established in 1973 by “Save the Children Fund” to provide a place of learning and gathering for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families within the Inala and surrounding community.

Today, Wandarrah is across two locations, a community kindergarten and child care centre owned and managed by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

Wandarrah Preschool is C&K Affiliated kindergarten service established in Inala for 50 years, The Centre’s focus is to maintain and embed Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander perspectives & build sound family and community links whilst ensuring we are inclusive of all children within the Inala and surrounding community.

Wandarrah Kindy provides the Qld Kindergarten Funded Program operating a 2 Unit Centre and welcomes experienced Early Childhood Teacher who have a willingness to work as a team and build on your knowledge to meet and understand the strengths of the community as well as promote and embed a program which reflects sound early childhood principles.

You must also understand the Early Year’s Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and be willing to promote, learn and use the 8 Ways of Aboriginal Way.

Please include your experience with working as a team, demonstrate your understanding and examples of community connection’s, and ability to work with an Indigenous leadership team who are key leaders in meeting the needs of the children and community.

Please demonstrate your strengths in embedding a program that will meet our Exceeding National Quality Framework standards in all 7 areas’.

**Early Childhood Teacher**
- Full Time - Permanent - 75 hours per fortnight
- Work every Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm
- Start date - Mid April 2023 on term 2
- Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognized by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification) OR Bachelor of Primary Teaching with completed diploma in early childhood qualification.
- Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
- Previous experience in a Teaching role in an Early Childhood environment
- Knowledge of the C&K Curriculum Approach align with the EYLF and QKLG
- Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards (“NQF” and “NQS”), the Early Years Learning Framework (“EYLF”)
- Knowledge of 8 Aboriginal Ways of Learning or demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal cultural.
- Current paid or exemption Blue Card
- Current First Aid/ CPR including Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and mentoring skills.
- A willingness to commit to shared learning and critical reflection as a way of informing, challenging and inspiring new ideas and innovation.
- An established ability to develop strong relationships with families and make community connections.
- Display sensitivity, a sense of humor, flexibility, sincerity, integrity and a high level of awareness of the importance of confidentiality.
