This is an amazing opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker who is passionate about working in the community, mental health sector, to be part of a growing organization that is making positive change and impact in many people's lives.

Being a Mental Health Support Worker with this organization, allows you the opportunity to really get to know your clients as you support up to a maximum of 3 clients. This ensures continuity of care for the client and allows you the time to really get to know your client and understand their needs in deeper manner and build trust between the two of you.

Clients are based in Sydney Metro areas and you will be carefully matched with a client, by both your personalities, the client's needs, and worker suitability to deliver on client goals via target setting. You will initially be introduced to the client via buddy shifts and then progress to 15 hours a week, for a trial period of 8-12 weeks. Upon completion of the trial period your hours will be increased and you will also receive a paid gym membership.

Hours can vary according to each specific client, however in general hours will be between 09:00am - 6pm. Days vary between Monday to Sunday again depending on the client's needs. Your starting rate will be determined upon qualifications and experience and will increase according to your performance. You will be supported by a highly experienced and caring manager and will also be provided with ongoing in-house training, to help you work more effectively with your clients. If in the future you would like to complete formal training (certification), this organisation is able to provide you with assistance to make that happen.

**Duties**:

- Build strong and trusting relationships with your clients
- Provide caring, emotional support and active listening
- Assisting the client with daily living activities
- Taking directions from the clients as needed
- Assist clients to reach their individual goals
- Participate in activities and social interactions with the client
- Monitor and document the clients daily progress and notify management of any changes
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times for the client

**What you need**:

- Certificate 4 in Mental Health or Certificate 4 in Community Services or be enrolled in and actively working toward completing one of these qualifications.
- NDIS Worker Check
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check
- Covid-19 Vaccination (x 2)
- Current valid Driver Licence
- Motor Vehicle
- Ability to understand and follow role-related instructions.
- Desire to learn and perform to a high industry standard - all necessary training will be provided.
- Proactive attitude and passion to leave any person or a situation in a better state than you found them.
