We have a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to be our Engineering Manager reporting to the Engineering Director. The position is based on the Sunshine Coast and has some flexibility on hours and working from home.

Aerotest is a business on the move with expansion and growth in all sectors of its businesses. The primary business unit designs and manufactures aircraft parts for worldwide distribution. We are looking for experienced people to join our team that can hit the ground running and take control of key tasks.

As the Engineering Manager you will hold a prominent engineering leadership role. You will lead the engineering team across our engineering disciplines and be the lead for design-related matters.

To secure this role, you will need to possess an Engineering or Equivalent Degree in a mechanical or aerospace discipline and have the necessary experience to hold and maintain status as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

You must also be eligible to obtain CASA Form 4 as Head of Design, backed by a minimum of five years of aviation experience. Previous or current experience in roles like CASA Part 21J Head of Design, CASA Part 21M instrument of Appointment holder or Certification Verification Engineer under EASA is valuable.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Lead a team of Design engineers creating aircraft parts using Solidworks
- Liaise with international Design Authorities for Engineering approval
- Oversee the high accuracy measuring of parts for 3D modelling
- Oversee and create full manufacturing drawings with parts list for manufacture
- Manage & create interface files for CNC manufacture.
- Creating and approving Engineering reports and technical documentation
- Approving Drawing revisions and document management
- Manage scheduling of tasks and projects for the engineering team.

**To be considered for the role, you will require**:

- Mechanical or structural engineering qualification with eligibility of registration or registration with Engineers Australia as a professional engineer or higher.
- Experience working with major airframe manufacturers, Boeing, Airbus, Embraer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Minimum of 5 years’ Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Fluent in a key European language is preferred (Spanish, French, German)
- Be able to work as a team and have a good work ethic

**Must be Proficient with the following Software**:

- Solidworks, 3D modelling and producing detailed 2d production drawings
- Solidworks, Stress analysis (FEA)
- Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel

**Salary**: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
