It’s an exciting time for tennis in Victoria and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. We are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of making it more accessible, to more people, more often. To help us achieve our plan we are looking for a Club & Council Liaison (Metro North West) to join our team at Tennis Victoria.
About the role
The Club & Council Liaison will contribute to the National vision to create a playful world through tennis and Tennis Victoria’s purpose of creating safe and inclusive thriving Victorian tennis communities, enabling more people to play more often. Central to the role will be the building of quality relationships with council and broader tennis stakeholders to influence the delivery of the strategic direction of tennis in the regions.
Reporting into the Regional Tennis Manager - Metro North West, in this role you will:
- Support the delivery of the Thriving Tennis Communities (TTC) framework in the region.
- Collaborate with councils to develop tennis in the region through education and resourcing of stakeholders (volunteers, operators, tennis deliverers).
- Collaborate with the broader Tennis team to deliver strategic outcomes for tennis in Victoria.

- Identify venues where management model change may be necessary to meet required minimum standards, enhance club performance and consumer needs, and support them in the required changes.
About you
What you will bring to the role:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations including councils and the broader tennis community.
- Strong report writing, data analysis and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence change and drive the behaviour of stakeholders towards a common goal.
- Strong understanding of sports administration, ideally gleaned through local government experience, and volunteer experience in club, or association level community sport.
- High computer literacy with Microsoft suite and database management and confidence in adopting diverse digital platforms.
- Understanding of the tennis environment and the various stakeholders it engages.
- Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
What’s to love

- Career development with a range of formal education and on the job training opportunities
- Tickets to the Australian Open & Superbox tickets to concerts and events at Rod Laver & Melbourne Arenas
