**About the Business Unit**:
The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office accountable to the Victorian Parliament which has been established to protect the rights and enhance the position of people with disabilities in Victoria. **About the Role**:
**Some of your duties will include**:

- In consultation with the team leader and other team members, assisting in the triage of matters received by the office to enable those matters to be placed on the pending list
- Making recommendations to the team leader, in respect of any urgent or serious issues arising from files which may require a guardianship decision or other action
- Responding to calls from represented persons, families and professionals for matters.

- Sound knowledge of the Victorian human services sector, particularly the NDIS, mental illness and aged care service systems
- An understanding the issues relating to disability, including mental illness and age-related disability

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable but not essential.
