**Your Role**

As an integral member of the Adelaide Manufacturing Team, you will provide clear management and direction to the Product Care Team. Your role will be to guide your team in investigating and implementing cost and quality improvements to the existing product range, all while ensuring our products satisfy compliance with key functionality, safety, and technical standards.

**A Typical Day**

You will be responsible for multiple projects focused on improving the existing product range. This will involve:
**Cost Reduction**
- Investigate and implement projects to reduce Direct Material (DM) and Direct Labour (DL) costs

**Quality Improvement**
- Investigate and implement projects to improve the quality of the manufactured products to reduce the warranty Service Call Rate (SCR) and improve Consumer Star Ratings

**Productivity Improvement**
- Investigate and implement projects to improve the efficiency and productivity of the manufactured products including Not Right First Time (NRFT) improvements

**Key day-to-day tasks will include**:

- Lead the Product Care Team to achieve budgeted targets on cost reductions, quality improvements, productivity improvements
- Encourage your team to take ownership in investigating, prioritising and delivering projects, providing support where necessary
- Manage and provide regular feedback on team and individual performance
- Prioritise and monitor multiple projects so that factory targets are met
- Report on progress, actual vs budget, and ‘end of year forecast’ using existing report formats
- Coordinate the prototyping, performance and quality verification, tooling quotation, part cost quotation, sourcing, production trialling and approval of components and finished assemblies
- Liaise with appropriate departments including Quality, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling Engineering
- Construct and update Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s)
- Coordinate and assist in the introduction of components and assemblies into production
- Follow up and rectify problems found with components and assemblies
- Actively participate in and/or manage Project Teams
- Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA’s)
- Prepare timing plans and risk assessments
- Manage, track and report on project statuses
- When necessary, support the introduction and ramp-up of new models designed by the R&D Department into production

**Education, Knowledge and Experience**

**Knowledge**
- Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts and materials
- Sound understanding of quality assurance principles
- Knowledge of local product approval standards and testing methodologies
- English fluency both written and verbal
- General knowledge of manufacturing and assembly methodologies

**Skills / Experience**
- Proven engineering experience in manufacturing or similar industrial environment
- Demonstrated experience leading teams

**Qualifications**
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
