Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
About the Role
Cross River Rail is committed to delivering infrastructure that everyone can use and ensuring every customer has a positive experience through construction to Day One of opening and beyond. The Principal Accessibility Advisor will support CRRDA's commitment to delivering infrastructure that is integrated, accessible and inclusive from design through to delivery. The position will work as part of the Customer and Network Change Team and will be responsible for undertaking significant internal and external stakeholder engagement to manage accessibility outcomes and facilitate engagement with the Cross River Rail Accessibility Reference Group.
This is a rare opportunity for someone with professional level experience in Stakeholder Engagement to make a significant impact to the lives of Queenslanders through genuine engagement, contributing to the delivery of new stations and upgraded infrastructure that provide equitable experiences for all passengers.
This opportunity is offered as a Parental Leave contract commencing from end of February / early March for an expected duration of 12 months.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Plan, research, draft and deliver best practice stakeholder engagement strategies and lead the implementation of the CRRDA Accessibility Plan.
Lead the planning and facilitation of monthly Accessibility Reference Groups and working group discussions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including relevant disability organisations.
Work closely with the Independent Accessibility Advisor to facilitate the provision of specialist advice on public transport Legislation and Standards.
Manage all accessibility components of station readiness through openings, closures and track closures to support customers from construction through to completion.
Develop communication collateral, detailed reports, evaluation and lessons learned documentation for broader government and project consideration.
Develop and deliver the Accessibility Education Program activities and initiatives.
Manage project reporting to track progress and risks regarding accessibility.
**About You**:
Proven track record in high level stakeholder management, delivering customer focused outcomes, ideally in a multi-agency environment.
Expertise in internal and external communications and engagement, as supported by relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to independently plan and manage tasks and projects to completion to meet organisational expectations of quality and timeliness.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with senior internal and external stakeholders as required and leverage connections to drive collaborative service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate relevant legislation and guidelines to support delivery partners to adhere to best practice outcomes.
Why work with CRRDA?
On Cross River Rail you will not only work with the best but become your best. And as we enter a new phase of delivery, our project offers a rare career opportunity for top tier professionals to have played their part on something that is genuinely city shaping and transformative.
Our people are supported with flexible work options, career development through the Australian Institute of Management, salary packaging and access to world class employee assistance provider Telus Health.
At Cross River Rail we are an equal opportunity employer and strive to build balanced teams from all walks of life.
