**Employment Opportunity**
The Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) Section in the Office of Corporate Counsel is primarily responsible for processing the departments access to information requests under the FOI and Privacy Acts. The section is also responsible for coordinating and reporting on public interest disclosures and coordinating the departments contribution to the Governments deregulation agenda.

Legal qualifications are not essential for these roles; there are opportunities to develop and exercise legal knowledge and expertise across the teams various functions.
- assist the department to meet its statutory obligations under the FOI Act and Privacy Act
- provide advice to, and work with, business areas to finalise FOI cases
- support delivery of training to staff about the FOI process, and legislative frameworks
- refine and develop best practice procedures and systems with the FOI team
- build and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
- liaise and consult on information access matters
- share their unique skills and experience, and
- work flexibly in response to changes in business demands.
