**About the Role**
Western Health has an excellent reputation of providing participants with a smooth transition into the acute care setting. We achieve this by providing a multi-layered support structure from Clinical Educators through to Preceptors. We offer an extensive orientation at the commencement of the program, study days during the program, bedside education, weekly education sessions and fortnightly debrief sessions.
This is a 10 week Transition to Acute Care Practice Program funded by a Department of Health Scholarship. Following the program an ongoing permanent employment with Nurse Pool on successful completion of the program.Further information by following this link:

The contracted hours for the 10 week program are 32hrs per week commencing on March 25, 2024 and negotiable ongoing employment hours post successful completion of the program.
The areas you will work in include our general medical and surgical acute care wards, however if you have previous experience in specialty areas, we can explore opportunities to undertake the program in these areas if preferred.
**To be Successful in this Role, you must**:
- Commit to ongoing permanent employment in Nurse Pool for 3 to 4 days per week on a rotating roster
- Be willing to undertake a 10 week learning program 4 days per week
- Have no acute practice experience for one year
- Have a minimum one year’s full-time or equivalent experience working as a nurse
- Hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident, or Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder
