**A real endeavour, shaped by you**

As the new Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial risk across the capability and procurement life cycles, helping Defence meet its objectives, maximise value for money and meet legislative and mandatory requirements. You will also provide a range of commercial services, including procurement, contracting, commercial support, commercial policy, and practice commercial professionalisation, governance and assurance.

To succeed in this endeavour, you will:

- Engagement with customers to inform the development of innovative and tailored commercial strategies and plans
- Budget forecasting, vendor management, Section 23 delegation, S&Q Services
- Managing and allocating risk appropriately and maximising value for money
- Tailoring of tender and contract documents and procurement processes to give effect to commercial strategies and comply with Commonwealth requirements

Our work is highly complex and confidential, so there are some things you must have to fulfil this role:

- You must hold a current NV1 security clearance or higher.

We’re also looking for:

- A relevant tertiary degree qualification in Laws, or extensive experience within commercial, contracts and procurement in Defence.
- An understanding of the Defence Capability Life Cycle
- Working knowledge and experience using Defence procurement and finance systems
- Experienced in the use of ASDEFCON templates
- Experience in building trusted & valued relationships with project team members, customers & partners
