South Melbourne, Australia Drive Full time

**Company Description**
It’s an exciting time to join the Drive team, a business wholly owned by Australia’s largest media organisation, Nine Entertainment, with extensive reach across all media channels including TV, digital, social, print and radio.

The Drive vision is to create the future of automotive in Australia. This is delivered via our simple, all-encompassing three C’s strategy - Commerce, Comparison and Commentary.

Commentary covers the deep knowledge, editorial authority and advice Drive provides for consumers. We are industry leaders in this space. Our team of motoring experts review and drive every car in the Australian market and understand the needs of consumers and brands more than anyone.

Comparison is a growth area where we bring together industry data and expert recommendations to further help consumers compare cars based on their preferences, side by side.

And lastly Commerce, our most exciting growth opportunity. Here is where we can help close the research loop and connect consumers directly to the cars they are able to buy now, via our Drive Dealer network.

We're looking for an experienced Consumer Editor to join our team on a parental leave contract.

In this role, you'll lead our Advice Content Team at Drive, focusing on delivering high-quality content that resonates with our audience and aligns with automotive trends. Reporting to the Director of Content, you'll need strong planning and problem-solving skills to meet business objectives in a fast-paced environment.

As a seasoned journalist with a passion for the automotive industry, you'll help maintain our publication's high standards and credibility.

**Day to day will include but won’t be limited to**:

- Lead a high-performing advice team to deliver quality content on deadline.

- Collaborate with in-house and contributor journalists to meet targets.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to journalists.
- Implement SEO strategies to boost content visibility and traffic.
- Work with Publishing and Marketing teams to maximise content engagement.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical journalism standards.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends, including AI.
- Continuously update industry knowledge and skills.

**Qualifications** What we would like to see on your resume**:

- Valid full driver’s licence.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field.
- Proven experience in journalism with an automotive interest.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and fact-checking abilities.
- Strong internal and external networking skills.
- Proficient with content management systems (CMS).
- Solid understanding of SEO best practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Adaptable and collaborative in a fast-paced setting.
- Awareness of the importance of cross-department collaboration for editorial success.

**Additional Information**
Having full-service automotive capability under one roof will differentiate Drive from its competitors in the future. We are a driven and forward-thinking team who love the automotive industry. Culturally, we strive to inject equal doses of creativity, knowledge, and fun into everything we touch.
