**Your new role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and strategic leader to join our team. As an accomplished economic development professional, you are ready for a change in working environment and seeking to lead a high performing team which is passionate about encouraging economic and employment growth, business prosperity and sustainability outcomes for the Knox community.
You will report to the Manager City Futures and use your significant economic development experience and highly developed abilities in strategic thinking, building networks, managing complexity and your drive for results to set and deliver on the strategic direction for Council’s Economic Development service. This is a permanent full time role and is based at our Civic Centre precinct.

This is a Band 8 classified role, remuneration will be $ 122,052.72 - $ 137,037.50 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

**What you will need to thrive**:
The role will see you contributing your insights as a valued member of the City Futures Leadership group and providing outstanding leadership to the Economic Development service.

The key selection criteria for this role are:

- Advanced knowledge of and extensive experience in working with factors impacting the local economy and facilitating successful economic development outcomes within a complex and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies, plans and policy that deliver positive social, economic and environmental outcomes that work towards future proofing business and industry.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining productive relationships and networks with key stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to represent and advocate for Council’s interests at a wide range of public forums.
- Proven project management experience with multiple and complex projects and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and motivate high levels of group performance by communicating and modelling the organisation’s vision and values
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, engage and develop staff, including setting work plans and ensuring effective and efficient program and project delivery.
