Bechtel Mining and Metals is seeking a Procurement Specialist with proven capabilities to join the team in Perth.

**About the Role**:
This is a Procurement Specialist/ Buyer/Expeditor role with responsibility of the procurement from formation through delivery and closeout of the project.n this role, you will need excellent interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, as well as maintain relationships with bidders and contractor personnel.

Your duties will include:

- perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders.
- prepare bidder pre-qualifications, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order administration.
- accountable to the project schedule to include planning and executing own work during the pre-award phase of purchase orders and post award administration of procurements.
- responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement with Engineering/Construction on purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases including supplier submittals, and order closeout; to include supporting management of back charges and claims.
- prepares and organizes assigned Procurement-sponsored meetings, such as bid clarification and post-award meetings.
- other duties as required.

**What You Bring**:

- solid experience in commercial and administration aspects of procurement of major equipment and/or bulk materials.
- worked on projects in a Purchasing/Buyer/Expediting role (experience in civil/structural and electrical, and/or instrumentation and control procurements is an asset).
- proficiency and experience in all phases of procurement including knowledge in the formation and administration of purchase orders through the several steps of and skill in informing effectively with suppliers, bidder prequalification, preparation of bidder's lists, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, monitoring the performance of suppliers.
- proficiency in the administration of commitments, monitoring supplier performance, backcharge procedures, and the resolution of claims and disputes.
- knowledge of legal and international commercial conditions of buying as well as international suppliers.
- ability to conduct site visits as required.
