**About the role**:
The Security, Information and Privacy Division (SIPD) is responsible for the strategic direction, governance of processes, provision of advice, stewardship and promotion of protective and cyber security, privacy, information management and records management.
This role will be working in a professional, highly dynamic, and established team of security professionals and will be regularly exposed to the various disciplines that Victoria Police operates in.
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

**Your duties will include**:

- Analyse event/alert patterns to properly interpret and prioritise threats with available DLP tools and other data protection devices.
- Analyse and define DLP requirements for systems which may include databases, cloud services and endpoints to safeguard Data At Rest, In Motion and In Use (DAR/DIM/DIU) Management
- Create custom DLP rules and tune existing rules, policies, alerts.
- Monitor DLP information security alerts to respond, triage, and escalate as needed.
- Create documentation to support DLP methods, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Write detailed case reports, manage, and document cases including resolutions and outcomes.
- Contribute to insider threat identification, behavioural analysis and assisting with escalation or remedial action.
- Identify cyber-attack trends and drive requirements aimed at improving and enhancing existing DLP detection policies.
- Provide technical advice on integrated security systems and IT solutions to detect and prevent suspicious DLP events and to minimise the risk of sensitive data loss.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- A tertiary qualification or an industry recognised certification in a relevant discipline such as information and cyber security, technology or business is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience as an Information Security Analyst/Engineer with a demonstrated track record in monitoring and handling events/incidents related to Data Loss Prevention capabilities.
- Possess the ability to identify, understand, articulate, and manage cyber security risks.
- Must possess strong technical knowledge of DLP architecture, system policies, rules, etc
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x 3 year Fixed term
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen
