Position Summary

We are seeking talented and enthusiastic Data and Information Analysts to perform one or more of the

following roles:

- Working with data and large databases, including data validation and processing
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and maintenance of data collections and standards
- Undertaking research and statistical analysis and interpretation of data
- Designing, researching, analysing, and presenting information in various formats
- Providing support with planning, organising, and assisting in projects
- Manipulating and interrogating databases using a range of software (including SAS, Python, R, and

other software)
- Liaising and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies,

State and Local authorities, and business or community organisations
- Assisting with website administration and maintenances
- Drafting papers and reports, including web reports.

The successful applicants will possess an understanding of and skills in, or aptitude for, statistical and

skills, and sound organisational skills.

those with qualifications or relevant work experience in statistics, epidemiology, demography, science

communication and journalism, database administration, data science, health informatics, economics,

actuarial studies, accounting, health sciences, social sciences, data mining, predictive modelling or

geospatial/GIS (geographic information system) mapping.

Selection Criteria

1. Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate, and to prepare

clear and logical papers, presentations and reports using plain English.

2. Demonstrated numeracy and analytical skills, and experience in using software to process or

present data analysis.

3. Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to prioritise one’s workload, work within

timeframes, and escalate issues when required.

4. Sound interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and sustain positive working relationships

and contribute to a team.

5. Demonstrated commitment to personal development, including the ability to identify own strengths

and development needs and seek self-development opportunities.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health or welfare discipline, or previous experience in a role involving data

management and development, collation, or research analysis and reporting will be highly regarded.
