**Policy Officer Community 0.6FTE (22.8 hours per week)**

WALGA is seeking an experienced policy officer with highly developed interpersonal, research and project management skills to join our Resilient Communities Team. In this role you will undertake policy research and analysis, contribute to the development of policy positions and submissions, represent the sector on committees and working groups, and play a key role in coordinating events and workshops which engage the sector.

An excellent understanding of policy development and knowledge of social policy and community development, along with a good understanding of Local Government roles, responsibilities and decision making processes, will give you an edge.

To thrive in this role you will be a strategic thinker who can undertake research and analysis and engage with our members to develop sector positions on key policy matters. You will have the ability to interact with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders and be able to write comprehensive reports, plans and submissions across a variety of policy priorities.
