Academic Coordinators are part of the academic leadership team within Deakin College and play a vital role in assuring quality and consistency of academic programs, the provision of innovative and effective teaching practices, alignment with the expectations of the partner university, and most importantly, successful student outcomes.

This position is specifically responsible for the Information Technology units within award programs offered by Deakin College and is responsible for effective academic management, coordination and administration of the Information Technology Programs. Working in conjunction with the Academic Manager, the role is accountable for ensuring the Information Technology Programs are: Coherent in design; effectively planned, managed and administered; and, that contemporary approaches to pedagogy are adopted in teaching, delivery and assessment.

The key responsibilities of this role incorporate program and unit coordination, academic leadership and administration, provision of academic advice to students, professional development and mentoring of teaching staff, and, in conjunction with colleagues from the partner university, coherency of course design.

The Academic Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining strong links with relevant Deakin University academic staff.
