**About Transport Shared Services**

Within the Corporate Services branch of TfNSW is the Transport Shared Services (TSS) responsible to provide business support to more than 26000 customers. Additionally, TSS services over 300,000 external customers ranging from Local Government representatives to citizens. Over the last year, TSS has implemented a strategy to lead the direction of the organisation towards workforce digitisation, emphasising customer experience and growing the business’s value proposition and services.

**The opportunity**

Right now we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Liability Claims & Recoveries Officer **to join our team.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage an end-to-end portfolio of liability claims and recoveries, delivering quality, prompt and efficient service and advice to clients, whilst ensuring compliance with delegated authority, legislation and policies. The role is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring implementation of strategies designed to reduce claims costs and minimise insurance premiums. The role works in a team environment, assisting and complementing the work of others in the Liability Claims and Recoveries team, to ensure that the customer receives the best service possible.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Live the NSW Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and customers
- Work cooperatively within a team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
- Account for and manage public liability claims including personal injury, fleet claims and property losses, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) for transactional processes, and adhering to the Public Sector Values of Integrity, Trust, Service and Accountability.
- Identify the issues surrounding liability claims made against Transport for NSW and appropriately investigate liability.

**About you**:

- Extensive knowledge and experience in public liability claims and recoveries management in a large organisation or with an insurer
- Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of relevant insurance legislation and regulations and of current requirements and practices relating to government organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of customer experience and advanced skill in building rapport, understanding stakeholder requirements and resolving concerns.
- Strong capability to communicate clearly, concisely and appropriately both orally and in writing.
- Sound numeracy ability with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and to learn and implement new processes and procedures as new technology, service requirements and work methods emerge

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 6A, $97,279 - 6E $107,007 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
