About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Industrial Relations Specialist to join our team at the State Government of Victoria, Australia. As a key member of our Employee and Workplace Relations branch, you will play a critical role in providing expert support and advice on employment and industrial relations matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide authoritative employment and industrial relations advice to executive and senior management stakeholders on complex and sensitive employment issues.
  • Develop and implement long-term and multi-phased plans to influence others and build buy-in from key internal and external clients/stakeholders.
  • Prepare technical reports, policy papers, and authoritative briefings on complex employment and industrial relations matters.

About You:

  • You will possess significant experience in providing authoritative employee and industrial relations advice and issue management to deliver successful organisational outcomes, preferably within a Government workplace.
  • You will have an expert understanding of the legislative and industrial framework that applies to the Victorian Public Service, including the Public Administration Act 2004, the Fair Work Act 2009, and the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024.
  • You will be able to develop and implement complex strategies to build buy-in from key internal and external clients/stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in employment law or a related field is highly desirable.
