**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Endocrinology is the study of hormone-producing (endocrine) glands and the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders, including diabetes. The ACT Health Diabetes Service is a multidisciplinary team comprising medical, nursing and allied health professionals. The service provides a coordinated and integrated service between the Canberra Hospital and various community-based locations within the ACT. The service provides diabetes care and treatment across the continuum for pre-diabetes, children, adolescents and adults, women during pregnancy, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

This Administrative Support position provides administrative support to the Diabetes team & Staff Specialists within the Endocrinology Unit.

**DUTIES**:
Under limited direction of the Office Manager and Administration Manager you will perform booking and scheduling duties for the unit. You will:

- Provide Reception services including answering telephone enquiries, liaising with patients and internal and external stakeholders. Under general direction, provide high level customer service to patients presenting to the Service.
- Assist in the administration of patient management including, but not limited to receiving, bookings and rescheduling.
- Ensure official records are maintained in accordance with the _ACT Territory Records Act 2002_ and other relevant policies and procedures. Input information into CHS and outpatient databases using relevant IT systems
- Support nursing, allied health and medical staff and associated administrative duties for patients. Assist with the coordination of all relevant paperwork and internal/external communications required as a component of the patient services within the Unit.
- Undertaking other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the section.

**Position Requirements/Qualifications**:
Mandatory
- CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.

- Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
- The successful applicant may need to be available for weekend and after-hours work.
- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Obtain a Compliance Certificate from OMU (Occupational Medicine Unit) relating to assessment, screening, and vaccination processes against specified infectious diseases.
