**Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage in Multiple EL2 Data Analyst Actuary for a 12 month assignment with potential extension in ADELAIDE CBD**

**About the Team**
The Analytics, Data and Actuarial Division provides information and advice on Scheme monitoring, financial sustainability, and risks. They perform analysis and provide insights for the overall financial sustainability of the Scheme.

The Division also provide operational data, insights and analytics to all operational teams, driving service delivery performance. They produce the annual financial sustainability report and quarterly actuarial reports, and provide information and advice to the CEO and the Board.

The Monitoring, Analytics and Reporting Specialists (MARS) Branch supports the Analytics, Data and Actuarial Division through ongoing monitoring and reporting on Scheme performance against key metrics. The reports are delivered to key stakeholders such as the Disability Ministers. The team also is responsible for the overall monitoring of the Scheme and producing the quarterly actuarial reports, and for provision of special purpose reports at the request of the Board, its subcommittees, and the public data release schedule.

The Outcomes Measurement team within the Analytics, Data and Actuarial Division is responsible for analysing and reporting on data collected from the NDIS participant and family/carer outcomes framework, including regular quarterly and annual reporting as well as in depth analysis focused on specific outcome areas such as employment and health and wellbeing. The analysis uses a variety of methods, including longitudinal statistical models and machine learning methods, to gain better insights into participant and broader Scheme outcomes and trends.

**About the Role**
The EL2 Data Analyst Actuary (Professional Stream) position is an important team leadership position within the NDIA and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.

The EL2 Data Analyst Actuary (Professional Stream) will exercise a significant degree of independence and will use a high-level of decision-making and judgement. The role will be required to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects and work program outcomes across functions that have strategic or operational significance to the NDIA.

**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:

- Providing statistical, analytical and/or actuarial advice to senior management and NDIA stakeholders, including insights and recommendations aligned to the Agency’s corporate priorities.
- Development and maintenance of an understanding of business context, goals and key performance indicators.
- Utilising strong problem solving and an ability to connect analysis to real world problems to design statistical and mathematical models that respond to business issues (including interpretations of the NDIS legislation and evaluation of policy decisions). This may include monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projections and cost benefit analyses.
- Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) and presenting the outcomes of work undertaken, tailored to context.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Division and across the Agency on a range of issues, including consistent use of data and reporting and internal/external messaging.
- Oversight and development of less experienced team members.
