**About the role**

Embark on a rewarding journey as a Out of Home Care Team Leader Join our exceptional multidisciplinary team, where your leadership will shape the success of the out of home care programs supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people living in Kinship/Foster care homes, young adults who have recently left care and children and young people who are entering into care for the first time.

In this influential role, you'll play a pivotal part in fostering culturally safe support, guidance, and mentoring for caseworkers. Your commitment extends to ensuring that every decision made prioritizes the best interests of the child, providing families with a service that is culturally relevant, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and holistic.

As a key player, you'll enforce adherence to VACCA policies among case managers, while offering unwavering culturally safe support, guidance, and mentoring. **About you**

To best ensure that you will be best able to successfully complete the tasks associated with this role, you will require the following:

- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’s vision and purpose
- Experience working in the child, youth and family’s sector
- Demonstrated ability to undertake complex work with children and families who have experienced trauma and may present with challenging behaviours, using culturally safe therapeutic approaches to heal and build resilience.
- Proven experience in completing assessments, including assessments of risks and developing, implementing and reviewing plans for children and young people
- Demonstrated understanding of child development, attachment and trauma as they relate to Aboriginal children
- Experience with reviewing program documents (e.g. assessments, care plans, MARAMS, and Case notes) completed by case managers and ensuring all documents meet audit standard requirements.
- Experience and sound understanding of computer data bases such as CRIS and CRISSP, Microsoft office packages.
- **Requirements**: Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain), a Police Check, and a full Victorian Drivers Licence
