Restaurant Supervisor/functions Coordinator

The Greenhouse Restaurant is a contemporary hotel dining experience with a feeling of sophistication. A fine wine cellar and lush greenery complement it. Bringing the outside in, the atrium fills with natural light daily, transitioning to a stunning, softly lit setting by night, the perfect place to indulge.
Our busy function and events schedule is all year round, requiring support with coordination and delivery. This role will need someone with natural leadership skills on the floor, the ability to lead by example, direct traffic, and appease the guests.
Reporting directly to the Venue Manager, you’ll work closely with the Assistant Manager, Functions Manager, Head Chef, and wider team to ensure a top-tier experience for our guests. Your role will involve overseeing Greenhouse Restaurant and Functions staff and ensuring smooth, successful event execution.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Restaurant and Functions**:
Lead day-to-day operations of The Greenhouse Restaurant and oversee the functions and events schedule.
Act as the key point of contact for restaurant and function staff, ensuring alignment with service standards.
Lead by example on the floor, maintaining a calm, professional demeanour while directing traffic and managing guest experiences.
**Customer Experience**
Elevate the dining and event experience by maintaining consistency and exceptional service quality.
Build rapport with guests, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to feedback or concerns.
Uphold the restaurant’s sophisticated and welcoming ambience from day to night.
**Staff Management and Development**
Oversee the Greenhouse and Functions teams, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and delivering excellent service.
Support and mentor staff to maintain a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Manage team rosters to meet operational requirements and budget targets.
**Operational Excellence**
Collaborate with the Venue Manager, Assistant Manager, Functions Manager, and Head Chef to deliver seamless service and event execution.
Coordinate function and event logistics, ensuring timely setup, smooth service, and efficient pack-down.
Monitor inventory and coordinate with suppliers to ensure sufficient stock for restaurants and events.
**Problem-Solving and Decision-Making**
Quickly resolve issues during service or events to ensure guest satisfaction and minimize disruption.
Adapt plans and allocate resources as necessary to accommodate changing needs or unexpected challenges.
**Health and Safety Compliance**
Ensure adherence to food safety and workplace health and safety standards.
Promote a safe working environment for all team members and guests.

You’re an enthusiastic and detail-oriented professional who thrives in hospitality. You’re a natural leader with strong communication skills and an ability to stay organised under pressure and work with a variety of people.

**The Essentials**:
- Availability for five weekly shifts across a 7-day roster, with weekend work expected.
- Experience in bars and table service (slow weeks will include shifts as the Hotel DM).
- RSA certification and RP Badge
- Must live in or near Adelaide with Australian PR or citizenship.
