**The Role**

The Destroyer Guided Missile Systems Program Office (DDGSPO) team, based in Sydney, Potts Point, is seeking a professional, self-motivated individual to join our Supply Support Team and fulfil the role of APS 5 Materiel Inventory Officer within the Combat System Integrator Team.

This role is accountable under limited direction to:

- Contribute and complete tasks to meet capability requirements and the forecast of future inventory needs related to materiel logistics inventory and asset management;
- Coordinate policy, processes and procedures that support materiel logistics inventory and asset management in accordance with Defence requirements;
- Draft responses to complex correspondence, briefs and reports for higher delegate consideration;
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities;
- Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback;
- Analyse supply chain data and resolve problems using expertise and recommend alternative courses of actions; and
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy, regulatory frameworks and organisational objectives.

**About our Team**
DDG SPO is part of the Major Surface Ships Branch (MSS) within Maritime Sustainment Division (MSD) and the National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). DDG SPO leads the Destroyer Enterprise in sustaining the Hobart Class DDGs; HMAS Hobart (III), HMAS Brisbane (III) and HMAS Sydney (V). The Enterprise is responsible for managing these complex platforms through a range of Commonwealth Employees and Contractors.

DDG SPO is comprised of three functions; Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Support. The teams work in a complex and dynamic environment that is part of a diverse and inclusive Branch that encompasses a variety of knowledge and experience within a supportive hierarchy. You will be working with talented colleagues, who will provide you support and guidance to ensure you succeed. DDGSPO is looking for an outcomes focused individual who can lead a team to analysis supply chain data and resolve problems using expertise and recommend alternative courses of action.

To be successful in this role you will;
- Be a results-oriented self-starter, have good judgement and ability to work independently when required;
- Communicate clearly and concisely in all forms;
- Have inventory management experience;
- Have experience with DDG SPO Combat Systems (or the ability to quickly learn);
- Have good analytical skills with high level of computer literacy;
- Identify issues and be able to provide/implement solutions; and
- Able to work in a dynamic environment by being agile, flexible and adaptable while still meeting our legislative requirements.
