Queensland Rail is looking for a collaborative Workforce Planning Specialist on a **temporary full time basis until 26/03/2026 **to join our People Planning team. This is an exciting time to join our team and be part of delivering an Enterprise Workforce Planning initiative for the business.
You will enjoy the opportunity to partner with the broader People and Culture team and business leaders, leading the implementation and continuous improvement of workforce planning for Queensland Rail, as well as providing support tools and specialist advice. In addition, you will:
- Undertake workforce planning activities including workforce segmentation, environment and horizon scanning, researching labour market intelligence, identifying critical capabilities and capability gaps.
- Develop actionable workforce plans to meet short, medium and long-term business objectives.
- Assist in developing and implementing processes across the business, by leveraging integrated planning, systems and reporting to understand workforce impacts from changes in demand and supply.
- Maintain and continually improve workforce planning frameworks and tools to ensure consistency and rigour in workforce planning across the business.

**About the opportunity**
This role is for someone who enjoys problem solving, and has a passion for sourcing, interrogating and analysing data. In addition, you will have:
- High level of interpersonal and influencing skills to build and sustain productive relationships and partnerships with varying stakeholder groups.
- High level of analytics ability to understand workforce data to make it meaningful and relevant for evidence-based decision-making.
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary organisational development and workforce planning
- High level of skill in the development and implementation of workforce planning frameworks, strategies, and implementation plans.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Tableau or Anaplan is advantageous.
