Principal Planner

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Principal Planner responsible for the implementation of the Queensland walking strategy.
- 12 months with two options to extend for a further 12 months
- Brisbane CBD
**As the Principal Planner, your key responsibilities will include**:
- Area and corridor studies to inform active transport planning and infrastructure works pipeline development;
- Innovative projects to accelerate active transport network delivery in partnership with local governments;
- Identify strategic needs and priorities for the development of active transport networks and facilities including options and recommendations for specific issues;
- Provide expert, strategic advice to the Director (Active Transport) and senior officers about project risks, issues, and opportunities;
- Reporting and briefing: Manage internal reporting requirements including preparing materials for briefing technical specialists, as well as senior executives and decision makers;
- Contract management: Assist with contract management for any services procured for this project, including the rollout of counting units with potential offerors, and any variations or procurement for future project stages;
- Financial reporting: Monitor the budget and any financial reporting by assigned requirements;
- Project alignment: Work with TMR to ensure that the project remains aligned with the strategic goals of the Queensland Government and TMR;
- Specifications: Develop specifications for further future rollout of counting units including updating business requirements documentation and project governance arrangements;
- Coordination of procurement assessment panels: Subject to outcomes of the trial, coordinate procurement panels and source the provision of technical input as and when required. Facilitate the review by procurement panel members of documentation and collate feedback.
**Desirable requirements**:
- A degree or equivalent experience in transport planning, policy analysis, or project management related to active transport would be an advantage
