**About Us**

This is an exciting opportunity to work in our State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) which regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW. The vacant role sits more specifically in the Home Building Compensation Enforcement team within our Home Building Compensation Regulation Directorate. As an Enforcement Officer, you will be expected to work collaboratively with, support and assistant, other Enforcement Officers to ensure the effective operation of the team and the achievement of meaningful outcomes.

The position on offer makes a real difference to New South Wales consumers within the residential home building industry. You will investigate businesses that are suspected of not complying with Home Building legislation, for example by failing to take out a policy of insurance policy, under-insurance or fraud, and recommend regulatory action when contraventions are found.

Our work assists businesses who have complied by making premiums more affordable, keeping the Home Building Compensation Scheme viable. It also ensures consumers who engage a business to undertake residential building projects are appropriately insured.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Conduct preliminary investigations and make appropriate enforcement action recommendations in line with the legislation and internal guidance
- Work collaboratively with, support and assist other Enforcement Officers to ensure the effective operation of the team
- Research, analyse, collate information and identify trends from internal and external resources to inform the management of legislative non-compliance and the identification of fraud to deliver regulatory outcomes
- Provide accurate and timely advice to the Manager, Director and other key stakeholders on appropriate investigative and regulatory strategies to improve compliance and achieve consistent and robust enforcement outcomes
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and issues on relevant legislation and industry practices
