**About the role**

The Assistant Director, Data Operations and Service is responsible for managing teams to lead service delivery of data reporting and analytics across the department for both routine operations and projects. This includes overseeing and maintaining efficient work practices, policies, processes and systems within the Data Operations and Service Directorate.

Reporting to the Director, Data Operations and Service, this role supports the delivery of an enterprise-wide data strategy, including transition from on premises data warehousing to a cloud lakehouse, maturing and running efficient service delivery management.

The Assistant Director, Data Operations and Service will develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships and networks, including the provision of expert and high-level advice, to meet the department’s needs. That includes leading the engagement with external contractors or service providers to ensure they fulfil their responsibilities and meet contractual obligations.

**Qualifications and competencies**:

- A tertiary qualification in Applied Data Analytics, Data Science or Management, Project Management, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related tertiary qualification, or relevant experience.
- Deep understanding of data management concepts, data housing, and integration concepts. Highly developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with demonstrated success establishing networks and working collaboratively to achieve outcomes.**What you will get in return**:

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course which will be required to be updated every three years.
