**The Role**

As an Operations Manager working within the Maritime Infrastructure Delivery Office (MIDO) team you will supervise on-site team members and work closely with the broader off-site Tweed Sand Bypassing (TSB) team.

The role is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the TSB facility, undertaking a range of activities, procurements and projects aligned with TSB’s asset management plan and relevant operations and maintenance schedules.

TSB’s objectives are to establish and maintain a safe, navigable entrance to the Tweed River and restore and maintain the coastal sand drift to the beaches on the southern Gold Coast of Queensland.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will:

- have an effective mix of professional and hands on experience
- be a team player
- have a keen focus on safety and a working knowledge of relevant legislative requirements
- have engineering or other relevant field and/or industry experience
- be responsible for the effective and timely preparation of tenders and management of contracts relevant to TSB operations for maintenance, renewals, and dredging, per the TfNSW requirements
- provide advice and relevant information to inform operational and capital investment requirements
- undertake effective infrastructure operation, ensuring state legislative objectives and relevant environmental/planning approvals and licenses are met
- be passionate about TSB and appreciate how it benefits the coastal environment and local communities

Other desirable attributes / skills include:

- Demonstrated experience and/or ability to achieve competency in:

- operating the necessary heavy and mobile plant used at TSB (e.g. medium rigid truck with hiab, 4 wheel loader, elevated work platform, gantry crane etc.)
- safe work practices for a range of site based activities (including TfNSW designated high risk activities)
- routine manual tasks (from time to time and as required) across a variety of disciplines (e.g. welding, painting, fitting, general maintenance).

This is an in-person, on-site role.
