The Air Force Familiarisation program is designed to give participants an exposure to what a career in the Air Force would be like and is hosted by the 22SQN at RAAF Base Richmond. Roles covered in this placement include aircrew, technical, ground support roles, military working dogs, engineering, maintenance, logistics, air traffic control, PTI’s, medical and fire & rescue.
Activities that you may participate in include:
- Simulators, including but not limited to Flight Simulators & Aircraft Movement Simulators (not suitable for participants who are or maybe adversely affected by flashing lights)
- Leadership activities - group trust and problem-solving activities
- Military life and skills training (marching, drill and compass navigation) - all you need for this is a flexible attitude and cognitive ability to follow directions.
