About the Role

Tintern Grammar, in leafy Ringwood East, is seeking an experienced, energised and enthusiastic teacher of Low Brass to commence in the week of Monday 13 May. The successful applicant should be willing to take on and build upon an existing tuition load of 4.5 hours per week plus ensemble commitments (1-2 hours per week). The successful applicant is expected to be organised, to make a positive contribution to the vibrant musical life of the school and work co-operatively as a member of our dynamic music teaching team. They will teach students on an individual and group basis, lead a brass ensemble and must be able to relate to students across a range of ages in both the Primary and Secondary sections of the school. Our preferred day of brass tuition is Friday.

About You

Teachers will be required to:

- Teach trombone, euphonium and tuba on an individual and shared basis
- Tutor a Brass Ensemble
- Keep accurate attendance rolls
- Prepare students for performances, auditions and examinations
- Communicate regularly with parents and prepare progressive written semester reports to parents
- Assist with the Junior Training Band on a weekly basis
- Assist with tutorials for large ensembles from time to time as required by the Director of Music or Head of Instrumental Music
- Teach group lessons in our Year 5 Band Program for the remainder of Term 2
- Assist with preparation and presentation of events such as a Brass Concert, the Annual Music Concert, Small Ensembles Concert, Music Camp, Celebration Evening, and other performances as required
- Liaise with the Head of Instrumental Music concerning the repair and maintenance of low brass instruments
- Undertake other duties as determined by the Director of Music
