French Horn Teacher

**About the Role**

With the appointment of our French horn teacher to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tintern Grammar now is seeking an experienced, energised and enthusiastic teacher of French horn to commence on Monday 7 August. The successful applicant should be willing to take on and build upon an existing tuition load of 2 hours per week. The successful applicant is expected to be organised, to make a positive contribution to the vibrant musical life of the school and work co-operatively as a member of our dynamic music teaching team. They will teach students on an individual and group basis and must be able to relate to students across a range of ages in both the Primary and Secondary sections of the school. Our preferred day of brass tuition is Friday, but this is open to negotiation.

**About You**

Teachers will be required to:

- Teach French horn on an individual and shared basis
- Keep accurate attendance rolls
- Prepare students for performances and examinations
- Communicate regularly with parents and prepare written semester reports to parents
- Assist with tutorials for large ensembles from time to time as required by the Director of Music or Head of Instrumental Music
- Teach group lessons in our Year 5 Band Program
- Assist with preparation and presentation of events such as a Brass Concert, the Annual Music Concert, Small Ensembles Concert, Music Camp, Celebration Evening, and other performances as required
- Liaise with the Head of Instrumental Performance concerning the repair and maintenance of our horn collection
- Undertake other duties as determined by the Director of Music
