**About the Offshore Infrastructure Registrar**:
Three dedicated Offshore Electricity Infrastructure (OEI) Teams assist the Registrar in performing its functions:
- Policy and Engagement Team
- Operations and Licensing Team, and
- Assessment Team.
The OEI Teams are located within the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA) Branch of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR). NOPTA has offices in Perth and Melbourne and staff working remotely in various locations throughout Australia.
**The opportunity**:
The newly established OEI Policy and Engagement Team works closely with internal teams, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW), the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator, and a range of other stakeholders, including government agencies and industry.

**Assistant Manager, Policy and Engagement Team **(Executive Level 1)**
- A strong ability to lead and/ or contribute to a high performing team, managing competing priorities and deadlines, and creating a collaborative team culture.
- Experience providing sound advice to senior management and decision makers on complex issues, including policy and regulatory matters.
- Experience in developing internal and external guidance material.
- Sound judgement and an aptitude for pre-empting and creatively solving problems.
- Ability to communicate with influence with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective stakeholder engagement skills.
- Resilience and an ability to deal with uncertainty.
- A focus on continuous improvement and proactively identifying and implementing ways to operate more effectively.
- Experience in, or an understanding of, the energy sector is desirable, but not essential.
**What you will do**:
As an Assistant Manager you will support the Policy and Engagement Manager to ensure the Registrar meets its legislative and corporate obligations in relation to the OEI Act and _Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Regulations 2022 _( **Regulations **), including but not limited to the following key responsibilities:
- Work with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), as the responsible policy department, in relation to the development and implementation of the licensing framework under the OEI Act and Regulations.
- Prepare internal and external briefing material for decision makers and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and review of processes, procedures, interagency protocols, and guidance relating to the Registrar’s functions.
- Engage and collaborate with Registrar staff and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes that are aligned with the Registrar’s strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Registrar’s stakeholder engagement plan.
- Represent the Registrar at external engagements, including meetings with industry, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement to day-to-day operations.
