Where the team fits in
- The Head of Product - Consumer AI sits within the Experience Engine portfolio as part of the Consumer Product & Experience Group.
- The Experience Engine portfolio consists of 2 tribes: Channels and Search along with Personalisation and Privacy. Experience Engine is on a mission to "Power incredible user experiences with platforms REA people love”. It is a highly distributed portfolio, with key leadership roles across Melbourne and Sydney.

What the role is all about- Define, own and execute on a strategy that harnesses the latest in data science and artificial intelligence (Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI and related technologies) to further the REA Group strategy-
- Provide internal thought leadership on emerging ML and AI trends, providing input to consumer strategy, product development, partnerships and due diligence-
- Conduct regular market scanning exercises to understand significant market changes and/or insights which are relevant to REA Group-
- Provide inspiring leadership to a team comprised of product managers, data scientists, data engineers, ML engineers and support staffEmpower product teams to integrate AI features into their products through business partnering, platform product development and experimentationWho we’re looking for- Proven experience delivering on ML/AI based experiences to market, preferably in a consumer-focused product experience-
- Experience managing a diverse stakeholder group across a growth organisation, with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience-
- Demonstrated understanding of how data science and artificial intelligence can be applied to drive commercial outcomes, including Conversion Rate Optimisation-
- Experience managing the complexities arising such as errors, relevancy, data quality, accurary and privacy-
- A strong but empathetic style that challenges respectfully-
- Ability to simplify complex concepts into artefacts for impact, communication and influence-
- A collaborator and creative thinker who values teamwork to get the job done-
- Strong understanding of machine learning model development-
