Macquarie University is recruiting for the role of Research Partnership Manager (RPM) to join its Partnerships team, within the Research Innovation & Enterprise portfolio. The RPM will work closely with the Faculty of Arts (Faculty). The position sits within the Research Partnerships arm of Macquarie Partnerships, and will report to the Director, Partnerships.

The primary responsibilities of the RPM role are to provide direction, advice and training on research partnership activities within the Faculty; to facilitate the achievement of research revenue attraction targets within the Faculty; to drive the development and implementation of research investment attraction strategies and initiatives aligned to the University’s strategic research priorities; and to assist the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, procedures and processes to maximise the university's research income.

Selection Criteria
- Proven ability to co-ordinate the entire research partnership process (end to end case management including identifying, preparing, securing, contracting and delivering major research partnerships).
- Demonstrated interpersonal, relationship building, influencing, team working, project management, communication and grant-writing skills.
- A proven ability to work to successful outcomes with researchers and external partners, including previous experience and understanding of research, particularly in the areas of Arts, Education, Law and Media & Communication in a university context.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with industry, with an awareness of the associated challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in developing and presenting cases for research funding, managing intellectual property and negotiating contracts.
- Advanced knowledge of the research and innovation funding sectors, including the competitive research funding landscape in the Higher Education sector would be desirable.
- Proven effective people management skills are desirable.
- A proven ability to facilitate workshops and sandpit-style events is desirable.
