Eden Ritchie is seeking a **Principal Human Resources Advisor** to provide support to the General Manager in establishing a workforce plan and strategy for the Office including managing complex case management and employee relation matters. You will enhance business outcomes and the achievement of Divisional goals. You will plan and deliver quality human resource advice and projects in line with Department business and operations.
- 2 month contract with possible extension
- Brisbane CBD location

**As the Principal Human Resources Advisor, your key responsibilities will include**:

- Consult and provide expert HR/IR advice to management and staff on human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
- Provide support to the General Manager in the planning and delivery of specific HR related projects, initiatives, strategies and process focusing on contemporary human resource issues, theories and practices to improve business processes, act on HR opportunities and address HR issues to ultimately enrich the working life of staff within the Office and Department Division.
- Develop systems and processes to ensure operational HR activities are correctly documented and implemented in line with relevant business practices and legislation.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of a small team of HR professionals, ensuring best practice HR/IR advice and strategies to senior management, project teams and staff.
- Provide support to the General Manager on the management of complex case management and employee relation matters while providing coaching and guidance to the HR team on such matters.
- Prepare and present high quality and timely submissions, reports, resourcing requests, briefing notes, and other correspondence about human resource management matters as required.
- Establish and implement a technical capability development framework in relation to rail infrastructure expertise.
- Represent the division with the implementation of whole-of-government and departmental human resource management legislation, awards, directives, policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Develop, maintain and foster strong relationships and partnerships with internal and external clients to facilitate high quality, business specific HR solutions and represent the Office on working groups.
- Model behaviours and attitudes aligning with Department values and support the development of your team through shared learning and coaching.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
- In collaboration with the broader team and Department’s HR Community of Practice, identify, design and implement creative ideas and opportunities to improve HR business processes and outcomes for the branch and Department Division.

**The successful applicant will demonstrate**:

- Previous or current Queensland government experience.
- Team Leader Public Service Commission leadership competencies
- Previous experience in an operational / generalist HR advisory focused role.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, case management including managing workplace conflict, performance issues, disciplinary matters and non-work related injury/illness.
