**The Role**
The FAMSPO Export Controls Lead/Integrated Logistics Support Officer (Acquisition) will, under broad direction, be accountable to:
- Provide guidance, direction and oversight to assure adherence to federal export control regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.
- Perform and achieve complex ILS work within an integrated workforce.
You will:
- Work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.
- Provide detailed materiel logistics technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
As the FAMSPO Export Controls Lead/ILS Officer - Acquisition, you will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. You will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. You are accountable to ensure that you have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
As the FAMSPO Export Controls Lead/ILS Officer - Acquisition, you may lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows. You are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.

FAMSPO is an acquisition SPO delivering air mobility capabilities to support combat, humanitarian, diplomatic and peace-keeping operations. The FAMSPO Materiel Logistics function is part of a matrixed organisation with the opportunity to gain experience across multiple projects at varying stages of the Capability Life Cycle from pre Gate 0 through to Project Closure.

The ideal person for this role will be an experienced and committed ILS Officer - Acquisition, and have a proven track record of successfully managing export compliance. During peaks and troughs of workload, you will demonstrate excellent time management skills and oscillate between your primary role as the Export Controls Lead, and your core role as an ILS officer, working within the FAMSPO Materiel Logistics function.
As an ILS Officer - Acquisition you will have a proven ability (preferably in aerospace) to use your initiative to make informed decisions and solve complex problems, using available resources and shifting priorities as the demand rises. As a leader, you will be expected to be self-motivated and support your team to come together and excel in order to achieve organisational objectives, whilst continuing to pursue your own self-development goals. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills, including strong emotional intelligence, resilience and adaptability.
