Job Description

AC JV is currently seeking a highly qualified Procurement Manager to join our esteemed team working on the Central West Orana project. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing subcontractor and supplier procurement processes, ensuring the project attains its procurement objectives while optimizing engagement within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with Procurement and Project Managers/Coordinators to develop the project's Procurement Plan and Execution Strategy, with a particular focus on strategic planning for critical packages and long lead items.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors, utilizing a Value for Money approach to procurement.
- Uphold an ethical procurement strategy consistent with industry regulations and best practices.
- Maintain the currency of the Procurement Register, ensuring seamless integration with the Contracts Register.
- Lead post-award meetings and negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Coordinate extensively with construction delivery and planning teams to ensure the timely achievement of procurement milestones.
- Develop and nurture a commercially robust vendor base to meet project requirements.
- Provide support to cost control teams and maintain updated reporting dashboards.
Required Skills and Competencies
- A relevant tertiary qualification is strongly preferred, though not essential.
- Proven experience in a similar Project Procurement Management role, preferably within the context of major infrastructure or construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large procurement packages from conception through to implementation.
- Evidence of strategic thinking and the ability to align procurement activities with overarching business objectives.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation prowess, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
